Hari Pers Nasional (HPN) tahun 2023 di Sumatera Utara (Sumut) dipastikan akan
dihadiri Presiden Republik Indonesia Joko Widodo.
Kepastian kehadiran Presiden Joko Widodo ini disampaikan
oleh Deputi 2 Sekretariat Presiden, Bey Machmudin, dalam rapat koordinasi HPN
2023 melalui daring Jumat (3/2/2023) pagi. Rapat diikuti oleh Ketua Umum PWI
Pusat/Penanggung Jawab HPN 2023, Atal S. Depari.
Bey Machmudin, menyatakan bahwa Presiden Joko Widodo akan hadir di acara puncak HPN 2023 yang akan digelar di Gedung Serba Guna (GSG) Pemprovsu, Medan, tanggal 9 Februari 2023.

Presiden juga akan menjalani serangkaian kegiatan di Sumatera Utara terkait HPN 2023. Bey Machmudin meminta semua pihak mengupayakan kondisi terbaik sehingga pelaksanaan HPN 2023 ini bisa berjalan lancar.
Ketua Umum PWI Pusat yang sekaligus Penanggung Jawab HPN 2023, Atal S. Depari menyatakan akan memberikan penghargaan pena emas kepada Gubernur Sumatera Utara Edy Rahmayadi.
"Pak Gubernur layak diapreasiasi dengan pena emas karena kedekatannya dengan media dan tidak pernah menolak kalau di doorstop oleh wartawan," ujarnya.
Ketua Bidang Acara Puncak HPN 2023, Nurjaman Mochtar menjelaskan bahwa HPN kali ini akan memberikan penghargaan kepada 6 tokoh pers dari Medan.
"Perjuangan tokoh-tokoh pers dari Medan tersebut layak diapreasiasi karena ada yang sudah memunculkan istilah 'Benih Merdeka' sejak tahun 1917 dan secara konsisten berusaha tetap terbit, meski pemimpin redaksinya ditahan di penjara," ucapnya.
Dalam HPN 2023 yang rencananya akan dihadiri oleh 7.000 wartawan baik dari dalam dan luar negeri, serta 14 Duta Besar negara sahabat ini, akan dilakukan penghargaan kepada 6 tokoh Kepeloporan Pers dari Medan, yaitu Dja Endar Moeda, Parada Harahap (Si Raja Delik), Tuan M.H Manullang (Tokoh Pelopor Pers Perjuangan), Mohammad Said (Tokoh Pers Perjuangan), Ani Idrus (Tokoh Pers Perjuangan Perempuan), dan Muhammad TWH (Tokoh Pers Tiga Jaman).
Ada hal unik serta menarik yang perlu ditunggu di acara puncak HPN 2023 kali ini, yaitu akan ditampilkan mesin tik Hammond buatan tahun 1885 yang pernah digunakan untuk mengetik berita dan masih berfungsi dengan baik hingga kini.
Presiden dan rombongan nantinya juga direncanakan untuk meninjau ke lokasi pameran pers dan UMKM di sekitar area acara puncak yang dilangsungkan di Gedung GSG Pemprov Sumatera Utara.
Seperti diberitakan, sebelum puncak HPN 2023 pada 9 Februari 2023 mendatang, panitia HPN juga menyiapkan berbagai kegiatan menarik.
Adapun rangkaian kegiatan dalam rangkaian HPN yaitu Workshop Literasi Digital: Media Sosial Dan Entrepreneurship Untuk Generasi Milenial di Aula Fisip - USU; Seminar Seruan Pers dari Sumatera Utara: Pers Bebas, Demokrasi Bermartabat dan Seminar Anugerah Jurnalistik Adinegoro di Ballroom Hotel Grand Mercure; Seminar Internasional : Disrupsi Digital dan Tata Ulang Ekosistem Media Yang Berkelanjutan di Amarylis Room - Hotel Grand Mercure. Semuanya berlangsung pada 7 Februari 2023.
Kemudian, pada tanggal yang sama juga akan berlangsung juga Kongres Ke XXVI SPS dan Seminar SPS di Ballroom Hotel Arya Duta, dan Diskusi Anugerah Kebudayaan di Hotel Santika Dyandra.
Juga akan digelar Rakernas IKWI dan Bakti Sosial di Hotel Khas Parapat pada 7-8 Februari, Pertemuan Dewan Kehormatan PWI Pusat dengan Dewan Kehormatan Provinsi se-Indonesia di Aula T Rizal Nurdin Rumah Dinas Gubernur.
Selanjutnya akan digelar Pameran HPN 2023 dan Pameran Tiga Abad Surat Kabar Indonesia di Komplek Astaka Pemprov Sumut dari tanggal 7-12 Februari dan Seminar Internasional Trade, Tourism and Investment Forum For North Sumatera" di Ballroom Hotel Adimulia pada 8 Februari.
Sementara acara inti terkait HPN 2023 yakni Konvensi Nasional Media Massa akan digelar di Ballroom Hotel Grand Mercure Medan, pada 8 Februari 2023.
Juga digelar Seminar Olahraga "Strategi Sumut Dan Aceh Meningkatkan Prestasi Olahraga Dan Kebangkitan Ekonomi Daerah“ dan Rakernas SIWO di Ballroom Hotel Santika Medan pada 8 Februari.
Ada pula seminar Dana Bagi Hasil Perkebunan untuk Meningkatkan Pertumbuhan Ekonomi Daerah di Aula Raja Inal Siregar, Kantor Gubernur pada 8 Februari. Serta Welcome Dinner di Rumah Jabatan Gubernur pada 8 Februari.
Untuk Acara puncak akan dilaksanakan di GOR Gedung Serba Guna Pancing Medan pada 9 Februari yang akan dihadiri Presiden Republik Indonesia Joko Widodo serta dilaksanakan juga Tour ke Danau Toba bagi Peserta HPN di Hotel Khas Parapat pada 9-10 Februari 2023. (*)
