Geophysics Agency (BMKG) recorded a magnitude 4.9 tectonic earthquake on
Tuesday morning striking the Pangandaran Regency and surrounding areas. The
quake was reportedly felt until the East Priangan area up to Sukabumi but
fortunately has not triggered a tsunami morning.
Head of the Bandung BMKG geophysics station Teguh Rahayu said reports suggest the quake was felt at III on the MMI scale in numerous regions that include Garut, Pangalengan, Bungbulan, Pameungpeuk, Sindangbarang, and Cidaun.

“So far, there have been no reports of damages caused by the earthquake,” said Rahayu.
