brominemedia.com - Head of the Jakarta Transportation
Agency Syafrin Liputo said the city-owned bus operator Transjakarta obtained an
Rp3.9 trillion subsidy that will be used to subsidize the fares for electric
bus services.
“With the additional 120 new units, we plan to operate a
total of 220 electric buses until the end of 2023,” said Syafrin to Tempo on
January 3.
According to him, the addition of Transjakarta electric bus units uses a rupiah payment system per kilometer, which is an investment scheme made by the operator.
Previously, the Jakarta Transportation Agency stated that Transjakarta would add 190 electric buses. The procurement of the Transjakarta electric buses will use the city’s 2023 regional budget.
"Next year there will be an additional 190 electric buses," said Syafrin when met at the Monas area on December 22, 2022.
